I found this picture on Instagram. I love that app. And it was so obvious, just from a snapshot, the two different types of loves these icons embodied. Prince, whom I love and admire but would not count as an influence, is all over the sexual, sensual aspect of love. He played and sang from his soul, (up until his heartbreaking later years) but his soul was kept mostly in his pants.
Michael, on the other hand, embodies that godly, innocent, higher love. The kind of love that gets you into heaven. Love of your neighbor and love of God. He used to say he invited children to Neverland because he saw the face of God in their innocence. That is a truth, for even Jesus said ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’
There are countless types of love, but they all fall along an incline like that of a mountain. Lust being the basest, bottom-level love and the only kind of love Satan is interested in. And at the mountaintop? Only really God knows, because God is love.
‘Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.’
All we can do, as mortals here on earth, is try and climb higher upon that mountain everyday, in our day-to-day lives. Reach out to those nearest to us. And with the internet, the entire world is at our fingertips! Thank you, Father, for this miracle called the internet. In your abounding love you saw fit to keep us all connected through our collective suffering and hiding under this wicked regime. ‘When the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding; but when the wicked perish, the righteous thrive.’
I believe the righteous will start thriving first on the internet. They will find each other. They will connect. They will flourish. All from the comforts of their homes.
And, likewise, the wicked shall perish all alone, in their wicked mansions of blood.
And then the sun will rise and the morning birds will sing and peace shall reign again on earth.
This is my dream and wish and prayer, reader. And should you join me in this plea, we may just live to see the day, for, ‘The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.’
