Slavery

When I was a sleeping child, I remember being so confused- What was genius Michael Jackson doing performing with bubblegum Brittney Spears? I now understand. It is not the easiest to understand ones servitude or even how best to serve in this pitch darkness, with no one coming out and saying who they really are or what their actual intentions are. I will do what I can, but it is also written, ‘Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.’

I have been curtailed by the chains of darkness. No matter.

‘Each one should remain in the situation he was in when he was called. Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it worry you– although if you can gain your freedom, do so. For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord’s freedman. Conversely, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.’

No, I will not worry. I am still the only person that frightens me. Me and my damned pride. Be gone! I think I will make a fine slave. ‘Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.’ My only hope being that I am allowed to collaborate with real musicians, and if not, that I be a strong enough influence to make musicians out of the players I am given.

And who really knows, reader, maybe I will end up making the world tremble – I will be such a good slave. ‘Under three things the earth trembles; under four it cannot bear up: a slave when he becomes king…’ Or queen, if it be God’s will.

Yes, I was blind, but now I see. Michael truly was a King, a servant of all.

‘Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”‘

God is a terrible romantic. Only natural as he created the romantic in the first place.
